West Texas Junior Champions Tour

Family-owned since 1999 and centered on San Angelo and Abilene, the WTJCT bills itself as the most affordable junior tour in Texas, with 25+ spring/summer events plus a fall series across central and west Texas. Points races feed a July Tour Championship and year-end scholarships.

About WTJCT

  • Founded in 1999 by Steve and Tonda Alexander to bring junior golf to all of west Texas; now in its 28th season and run by their daughter Chandra Hall and husband Brandon.
  • Eight junior age divisions from 6–7 coed up to 15–18, plus a collegiate division (ages 17–24) during the summer season.
  • Over 140 alumni have signed to play college golf and more than $30,000 in scholarships has been awarded to graduating seniors.
  • Fall 2026 post-season includes stops in Brownwood, Abilene, Fredericksburg, Sonora and San Saba, all open to non-members.
  • Season points race qualifies top earners for the Tour Championship each July (junior divisions).

An East Texas summer tour based around Longview, Gilmer and Texarkana that runs a 10-event schedule from June 1 through an early-August Tournament of Champions. Five age divisions and a mix of individual and adult/youth formats keep it family-oriented.

Launched for the 2025–26 season by San Antonio instruction company On Par Golf in partnership with the Alamo City Golf Trail municipal courses, this local tour offers 60+ low-cost events a year with skill-based divisions from age 5 through high school. A season-long Race for the Crown crowns players of the year each August.

A volunteer-run 501(c)(3) providing low-cost tournament golf for youth ages 6–18 in Starr, Hidalgo, Cameron and Willacy counties in the Rio Grande Valley. Season standings select a junior Border Cup team that competes against Laredo.

Not a tour but one of the region's oldest junior events: played every June in Wichita Falls since 1957, the 'T-O' draws roughly 350 juniors from across the U.S., Mexico, Canada and beyond to Wichita Falls Country Club and the Champions Course at Weeks Park.
