On Par Golf Junior Tour

Launched for the 2025–26 season by San Antonio instruction company On Par Golf in partnership with the Alamo City Golf Trail municipal courses, this local tour offers 60+ low-cost events a year with skill-based divisions from age 5 through high school. A season-long Race for the Crown crowns players of the year each August.

About OPGJT

  • Inaugural season Fall 2025; 60+ tournaments across fall, spring and summer at San Antonio-area courses including Alamo City Golf Trail venues (Brackenridge Park, San Pedro Par 3, etc.).
  • Divisions are by skill as well as age: Gold Crown (varsity-level, 6,400+ yards for boys), Silver Crown (JV-level), Bronze Crown (ages 8–13, 9 holes, caddies allowed) and coed Iron Crown (ages 5–9).
  • Flat entry pricing: $70 for 18 holes, $50 for 9 holes, $30–$35 for Par-3 events.
  • Race for the Crown points: regular events 1x, majors 2x, Tour Championship 3x, Par-3 events 1/3 points.
  • Players may compete the summer after graduating high school if under 19; one division change allowed per season.

Best for: San Antonio-area families wanting frequent, inexpensive tournament reps for kids from beginner through varsity level.

A volunteer-run 501(c)(3) providing low-cost tournament golf for youth ages 6–18 in Starr, Hidalgo, Cameron and Willacy counties in the Rio Grande Valley. Season standings select a junior Border Cup team that competes against Laredo.

Not a tour but one of the region's oldest junior events: played every June in Wichita Falls since 1957, the 'T-O' draws roughly 350 juniors from across the U.S., Mexico, Canada and beyond to Wichita Falls Country Club and the Champions Course at Weeks Park.
