Texas Junior Golf Tour

Founded in Austin in 1989, the TJGT is the largest independent junior tour in Texas, running roughly 85 tournaments a year around Houston, Dallas–Fort Worth, Austin and San Antonio plus Red River (Oklahoma) and West Texas summer series. Events are nationally ranked and offer AJGA Performance Based Entry.

About TJGT

  • Founded in Austin in 1989; has grown from 8 to about 85 tournaments per year with 3,300+ alumni who played college golf (notable alumni include Jhonattan Vegas and Stacy Lewis).
  • 2026–27 season membership is $209; membership brings priority registration, up to 20% off every event, and access to Elite Invitationals such as the Tour Championship and Texas Match Play.
  • Red River Series (Oklahoma City, Shawnee, Broken Arrow, Thackerville OK) and West Texas Series (San Angelo, Lubbock, Midland, El Paso) are open to non-members with no surcharge; entries $189–$209.
  • Events are ranked by Junior Golf Scoreboard, Golfweek and AJGA, and offer AJGA Performance Based Entry stars.
  • Also runs an Elite Mini Tour for ages 8–12 and a Texas Collegiate Amateur Tour for ages 19–25.

An East Texas summer tour based around Longview, Gilmer and Texarkana that runs a 10-event schedule from June 1 through an early-August Tournament of Champions. Five age divisions and a mix of individual and adult/youth formats keep it family-oriented.

On Par Golf Junior Tour

Launched for the 2025–26 season by San Antonio instruction company On Par Golf in partnership with the Alamo City Golf Trail municipal courses, this local tour offers 60+ low-cost events a year with skill-based divisions from age 5 through high school. A season-long Race for the Crown crowns players of the year each August.

A volunteer-run 501(c)(3) providing low-cost tournament golf for youth ages 6–18 in Starr, Hidalgo, Cameron and Willacy counties in the Rio Grande Valley. Season standings select a junior Border Cup team that competes against Laredo.

Not a tour but one of the region's oldest junior events: played every June in Wichita Falls since 1957, the 'T-O' draws roughly 350 juniors from across the U.S., Mexico, Canada and beyond to Wichita Falls Country Club and the Champions Course at Weeks Park.
