Legends Junior Tour (Texas Golf Association)

Founded in 2005, the Legends Junior Tour is the TGA's elite junior circuit and the top tier of the Texas Junior Golf Alliance with the two Texas PGA sections. Roughly 15 open, major and invitational events run statewide on acclaimed courses.

About LJT

  • About 14–15 events per year: open events, 4–5 majors and 2–3 invitationals
  • Most events are 2–3 days (36 or 54 holes)
  • Players earn AJGA PBE stars at qualifying events; Junior Golf Scoreboard rankings drive the Priority Entry System
  • Membership in the NTPGA or STPGA junior program is required to compete
  • TGA and LJT combined conduct nearly 50 championships annually

Key championships: Texas Junior Amateur (100th in 2026), Byron Nelson Junior Championship, Texas Girls' Invitational, LJT Winter Classic.

Best for: Competitive Texas juniors seeking ranked multi-day events and AJGA stars close to home.
